Could You Be A Volunteer? (Download PDF Application Form) What is it all about? We are an independent/voluntary sector organisation that largely depends on the skills and time donated to us by volunteers. We particularly need volunteers who are skilled or experienced in the following areas: Administration, driving, buddying, home-help, complementary therapies, fundraising, photography, IT, campaigns and marketing, outreach and much more… If you have additional skills that feel you can offer please do get in touch. Being a volunteer means you can give your time as you like, during the day or at our evening groups. What will we do for you in return? Firstly, we will train you as a general volunteer and then in a ‘specialist’ way if you choose certain areas of work e.g. SNAP Project and Buddying. We will continue to support you in all that you do, with supervision and a personal development plan. We also pay travel expenses and meals allowance. Our Social Inclusion Training and Development Project may assist you in retraining with a view to returning to work or continuing your education. Why should I become a volunteer? By volunteering with us you can make a real difference and add value to lesbian, gay and bisexual life or the lives of people living with and affected by HIV and AIDS. The range of services we provide means we can find work to suit your current skills or help you to develop new ones. Volunteering is an excellent way to meet new people, expand your social life and have some fun while helping others. When can I start? If you think you would like to volunteer for NLGBA or PIN you can complete an online application here. If you would like to discuss your application or find out about current volunteering opportunities please contact us. Following your application you may be asked to come into the office for an informal chat before we decide whether you are suitable for the role. |
