Parent Support Group

With assistance from NLGBA and FFLAG (Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays) , Amanda, a local Mum is setting up a Parents Support Group for those with young LGB family members. If you are a parent, relative or friend of someone who is gay, lesbian or bisexual and having difficulty coping with this then help is at hand!

This support group provides an informal, friendly and confidential place for you to meet other people who understand your feelings and can offer help, information and support.

The initiative is being brought about with the involvement of the kids themselves, actively contributing to the group's direction, and the fact that they are important beneficiaries of their parents' journey, awareness & understanding. That approach has led to a Money4Youth grant award to sustain the group in its first year, for which we are most appreciative.

The group will meet monthly on every 3rd Thursday of the month and the first date is here at 13 Derngate on

Thursday 22nd November 2007 from 7.30pm.

Please spread the word for those parents/family members etc that might be coming to terms with the sexuality of another family member and might benefit from an informal social with others in a similar situation.

Amanda can be contacted via NLGBA or via the FFLAG national line on 0845 652 0366.
